HEY GUYS!!!
WARNING!!! :This is NOT gonna be a cheesy "oh let's all appreciate Christmas" blog- apologies.
And also, later on in the blog, if you have kids that can read and also believe in Santa close to you, send them to their room. Jah bless
Merry Christmas everyone, or should I say Happy Holidays for my American audience LOL
I don't get the idea of that so I will address it- PLEASE feel free to wanna disagree, I'm just saying.
WHY is it that 'Merry Christmas' is not appropriate any more I mean isn't it CHRISTMAS???
You know me, before I start arguing, I do my research and these are some reasons I found:
"Because America has lots of other religions who also celebrate holidays during the winter solstice and they are not Christians and do not celebrate Xmas. We have Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, etc. and we respect other people and their beliefs and do not force everyone into one pattern. That is why the US does not have people of different religions at each other's throats like so many other countries do"
"For two reasons:
1. To include New Years
2. Because America is a melting pot, meaning that we have a mixture of cultures and beliefs. Not everyone believes in Christianity or celebrates Christmas so we say Happy Holidays to include all the other practices that are held around this time"
I did find out some more but I don't wanna get you guys angry so I'll just stop there.
Okay so if you're already disturbed at the fact that I'm questioning this absurd political correctness, that's for your own pocket but- you have two options 1) stop reading and go on Facebook or 2) shut up and read, go and sit down somewhere. I'll give you a few moments to decide ***
.......................................................................................................................................
and we're back. Firstly, I'll discuss the second person's reasons, she said "to include New Years"
I don't know what KIND of laziness has plagued the minds of people, you're telling me you have reduced the value of a Christmas greeting because you can't be asked to separately say "Happy New Year"?? Are you serious??
That has to be THE most ridiculous excuse, and I say excuse not reason because it is THAT ridiculous
Her second reason and the other person's reason are kind of similar- basically, America is full of ethnic minorities so therefore, it's not fair on those that don't celebrate Christmas or believe in it...I mean it's fully understandable because they ARE the only country in the WHOLE world to have mixed cultures(!)
So in the process of trying to "please" everyone, they take away the joy of those who don't mind- there are people who get excited just by hearing the word Christmas, some people only smile once a year and that's when they hear Christmas- now its JUST a holiday, the celebration of the birth of Jesus is now a "holiday" that's been pushed into a junk yard alongside Hanukkah and the others. So WHAT if there are different holidays in that period? if you're for Christmas, say Merry Christmas and if you're for Hanukkah say Happy Hanukkah. If it offends you, it's too bad, go and drink water, it's not like it happens ALL year.
Why must we bend over backwards because people have different beliefs- no that's not keeps the country together, it's just emphasising the variety and the"shame" of having a belief otherwise each beliefs would be appreciated and applauded EVEN WHEN SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT!!!
Christmas IS and always will be about the birth of Jesus- YES, even if some of you think something happened over time and the date was changed *talk to the hand* KMT
And when you say "That is why the US does not have people of different religions at each other's throats like so many other countries do" PLEASE name one country that that declared war within itself or had a riot over Christmas because people are saying "Merry Christmas". If it wasn't for the birth of Jesus, there'd be no holidays, take it or leave it, home-slice.
And those that chat rubbish about "we don't do Christmas" you're telling me you haven't given or received a gift because of the season?LOL please go and sit down somewhere
I have Muslim friends that are as excited as Christmas as I am but then.. I live in England so hey i guess some people aren't as- WAIT HOLD UP, it bothers you that a certain amount of people celebrate Christmas and like to sing about it- how about you? Don't you celebrate some things in your religion? and why don't you share it? are you ashamed of it?
If people want to celebrate Jesus' birth leave them- don't use the issue of political correctness as an excuse to dumb down the season even more especially as we now live in a generation where Christmas is about "giving gifts" for REAL????
Where did the IDEA of the image of Christmas is Santa Claus???That's what you're teaching your kids?? to believe in something THAT DOES NOT EXIST?? AND YET WE ARGUE ABOUT THE EXISTENCE OF GOD???
Man, the world is SO hypocritical, it's not even funny- the length at which you people go to promote this dude in red- so things can SELL. You play with innocent minds- I'm just saying.
That's just something I thought y'all should think about THIS Christmas, that way, hopefully, next Christmas will be different :)
Merry CHRISTMAS!!!
If I don't write another blog before the new year (hopefully I should) then I would like to wish EVERYONE A HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE
TILL NEXT TIME!!!!
